Self-Published Authors Exposed
The industry of self-published authors is growing rapidly and even though many shy away from self-published work, others are finding that there is a lot of good books in that sector. The way publishing companies are set up and the little they offer their starting authors is what's fueling them to look elsewhere to get their books in print. Authors like Dan Poynter took advantage of this lack of service to first time authors and have created his business around it, providing valuable information to people who like him took charge of their own writing carreers.
Having to market their own books, no matter where they are published, is one of the reasons authors are looking into self-publishing seriously. Even people who have published by traditional means before are doing so on their own when they have a timely topic to get to the world. To have their books available indefenetely is another advantage against the traditional way in which if the book doesn't sell right away is quickly remaindered and discontinued. Some books take time to be recognized and appreciated by readers, and if the publishing companies don't put a lot of money for the promotions how do they expect to make more sales?
A new magazine is working its way up to promote this sector of self-publishing and helping authors get the word out about their books. PODS Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine geared specifically for authors/publishers.
My article 5 Power-Packed Weapons for Guerrilla Marketers is featured in the May-June issue. In it I share 5 basic principals when you consider promoting your own books.
I invite you to get your copy today which you can get either in a printed or download format. You can also find interesting interviews with new authors and book reviews. PODS is filling a growing need for authors and I wish them the very best.
Don't be fooled by the industry, check out these new and upcoming authors who are looking to impact the world, each in their own unique way.
